We handle information to perform the contract and manage accounts, payments, documents, support and alerts; to meet tax, accounting and legal obligations; to protect the Service; to improve features using minimal metrics; and to send updates only with your consent. Third-party analytics rely on consent you can withdraw. Consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, we rely, as applicable, on performance of the contract, a legal obligation, your consent, or a weighed and documented legitimate interest.
We normalise information from courts and Land Titles Offices, insolvency and bankruptcy registers, councils and state revenue offices, valuer-general and land-tax data, government land agencies and other sources identified on each listing. The fact that a source is public does not permit unlimited use: we apply data minimisation, traceability, masking and relevance review. We do not request or keep users' court or government portal credentials, and property look-ups are carried out by address, title reference or coordinates, not by an individual's tax file number.
We may disclose strictly necessary data to Azure (infrastructure and database), Cloudflare (security, CDN, Workers and R2 storage), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Algolia (search), Sentry (diagnostics, if configured) and, only with your consent, Microsoft Clarity and Google tools. Some providers process data outside Australia. We require appropriate contractual and security measures and comply with the cross-border disclosure requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principle 8.
Non-essential technologies stay blocked until you accept them. You can decline them without losing features and change your choice from the site footer. You will find the details in our Cookie Policy. Our own analytics do not store your IP address, email, search text or a cookie identifier and are deleted automatically after 400 days.
We keep account data while the account is active; support and correction requests only for as long as needed to resolve them and defend our rights; aggregated events for up to 400 days; and minimal billing records for the applicable tax, accounting, contractual or limitation periods. When you delete an account we first cancel any active renewals and then delete or anonymise anything we are not required to keep by law or to resolve a dispute.
You can ask us, free of charge, to access, correct, delete or restrict your personal information as provided by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. You can also object to certain handling and ask that your data be provided to you. You can withdraw consent, without retrospective effect. Make your request at Privacy Requests or write to privacy@australiantaxsales.com.au. We will reasonably verify your identity before providing or changing any data.
If a listing contains inaccurate information about a property or proceeding, use Report a Correction. If the report involves your own personal information, treat it as a privacy request so the appropriate process and safeguards apply.
We use encryption in transit, access controls, separation of sensitive data, masking, backups and access logs. No system is infallible. We will investigate incidents and, where the law requires it, notify the OAIC and affected individuals without undue delay under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
The paid Service is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not seek to handle the personal information of children or young people. If you notice information about a minor, please contact our privacy team.
Material changes will be notified before they take effect, on the site or by email as appropriate. Contact: privacy@australiantaxsales.com.au. For consumer complaints: support@australiantaxsales.com.au. You can also complain to the OAIC. This policy does not replace individual legal advice.
